Early in the morning, we pick you up from your hotel at 4:30 am in a minivan and then drive to Mollepata village for two hours where we stop in a local restaurant for breakfast, most of the hotels offers the breakfast a bit late in Cusco city that is why we have some free time for having it in this village which is our first stop for 30 minutes, then we continue driving to Soraypampa for one more hour. On the way we will feel already how the temperature changes here and the landscape gets surround by snow capped mountains. We start with our hike around 9 am for two hours until Humantay lake (4250m.a.a.l/13943 ft.). The first part of the hike is not difficult so it is Good for warming up, but after 30 minutes of walking the way becames a bit much harder because we start going up hill where we will feel the altitude and would be a challenge because is not that much air at that high, but the scenary that we can apreciate in this part is amazing. We have the Humantay snow capped Mountain which according to local people is the Salkantay’s friend and protects this area as well irrigating the lake with his sacred water and depending in the weather we can see how the water gets the green color when is sunny. After getting here we have like 30 minutes to explore around and to take pictures. The way down is much easier and will take you about one hour back to our transportation and then drive to Mollepata town where we eat lunch and then drive back to Cusco city and drop you off at your hotel. We arrive to Cusco city around 7 pm at nigth.
