DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN CUSCO
According to your flight schedule in Cusco, our transfer will be waiting for you at the Cusco Peru Airport with a sign where your name will be written to locate you. Then you will be transferred to your respective hotel.
So, after a 30-40 minute ride to the city center, you will be installed in your hotel. As a result, you will have the rest of the day to rest and acclimatize to the altitude of the city and enjoy a delicious coca tea.
DAY 2: CITY TOUR
The city tour is very simple because you won’t walk that much as in another treks. This tour starts in the morning or in the afternoon. But in case you want to start in a specific time let us know cause this tour takes only 4 hours and we will see 4 small arqueological sites like Tambomachay, Qenqo, Puka Pukara and Saqsayhuaman. The driving from Cusco to Tambomachay is only 30 minutes. This arqueological site is about 3700 m.a.s.l and would be the highest point in the tour, but remember that we get here by car and is 5 minutes walking to the get at Tambomachay archeological site. After seeing this point we go to Puka Pukara which is very close, like a minute by car and then the guide will tell us the history of this place. Depending on the weather we can see a snow capped mountain from there.
Then we continue to Qenqo which is an amazing place where the incas momified in the past. This place still surrounded by the mistery and you will see why once you get there. After Puka Pukara is only 10 minutes driving there and finally we go to Saqsayhuaman where we spend at least an hour because this is a huge area to explore. In this place we have huge rocks moved by the incas in the past. You will be surprised with all the arquitecture that you will see here plus the nice view point of Cusco city.
By the end of our tour, we drive back to Cusco for 20 minutes and drop you off in your hotel.
DAY 3: SACRED VALLEY
In our third day of the tour, we pick you early in the morning and drive from Cusco city to Pisaq archeological site which is going to be our first place to see in the Sacred Valley, but before getting there we will stop in the way for taking a nice picture of this valley. After driving for 1 and half hour we arrive to Pisaq where we spend an hour with the guide seeing part of this arqueological site like the terraces, inka neighborhoods and the cemetery. You will be surprised with the magnificent of this inka city. Once we finish we go to Urubamba where we have our lunch in a nice restaurant and then continue till Ollantaytambo, the second arqueological site and famous because still an inka city with original inka streets and channels. You must know that to get the most important construction in the arqueological site we have to climb many stairs till the famous temple of the sun, for sure we take our time to get there and enjoy the nice view that we get from there. We spend almost 2 hours here because is a huge construction. At the end of the day we go to the train station for taking the train to Aguas Calientes Town and go straight to the hotel for resting. On this day the dinner is not included but you will find many options in this town.
Day 4: MACHUPICCHU ARQUEOLOGICAL SITE
In this day we will see one of the new Seven Wonders of the World where many people is going as well. So you must know that depending in which time of the year you come, the weather would be an important factor for starting with our tour in Machupicchu. If seeing the sunrise is in your plans we can start very early, but if you want to rest a bit longer in the hotel we just change the time, any time that you decide to go we will organize everything for you, just a night before talk about that with the guide who is going to explain that again. Going by bus from Aguas Calientes to Machupicchu is 25 minutes and once you get there, we will start with our tour which takes about 2 hours exploring around and seeing the most important places. At the end of the tour we go back to Aguas Calientes by bus again and for taking the train back to Ollantaytambo and then a minivan to Cusco city and drop you off in your hotel.
DAY 5: CHINCHERO, MARAS & MORAY
Firstly, this day begins our adventure through the incredible landscapes of Cusco. We will start with your pick-up from the hotel between 08:00 to 08:30 am. Then, we’ll go to the colorful town of Chinchero, where we will find Inca wall constructions and its small Church Colonial that awaits a lot of history.
Also, we will participate in the elaboration of the Andean fabrics in a textile interpretation center, where the local people from the town of Chinchero will show us their ancestral art. After that, we will continue with our adventure towards the famous circular cultivation terraces in Moray Cusco. Certainly, our ancestors, the Incas, experimented to find out the type of product for each altitudinal floor.
Continuing our journey, we will descend towards the Maras Salt mines (a picturesque place with spectacular landscapes). So, we will visit the more than 3000 wells of salt. The Incas used this salt for their consumption.
Finally, we will go back to Cusco city.
Day 6: RAINBOW MOUNTAIN
Very early in the morning between 04:00 to 04:30 am. We will go to the south of the city, crossing fields, rivers, mountains, and villages. So, we will travel for about 2 hours until we reach the town of Cusipata, where we will enjoy our delicious breakfast.
After that, we will travel for another 45 minutes, observing beautiful landscapes, canyons, glaciers, and herds of llamas and alpacas, until we reach the starting point of the hike in Pulawasipata. So, we will walk for approximately 2 hours until we reach the Mountain of seven Colors or Vinicunca. On the way, we will observe numerous South American camelids with their shepherds dressed in beautiful colorful typical costumes.
Upon reaching the top of the vinicunca mountain peru, we will have enough time to take photographs and enjoy the landscape. Besides, we can also clearly appreciate the highest snow in Cusco, the Ausangate mountain.
Later, we will undertake the return along the same path until we reach our transport to return to Cusipata. Subsequently, we will taste our delicious buffet lunch. Meanwhile, we will return to Cusco, our vehicle will leave you in the center of the city.
DAY 7: TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT
Finally, according to your flight schedule, we will take you to the airport for your departure to Lima or your next destiny.
